How We Stock Spare Parts in Australia

A behind the scenes look at how we invest in spare parts support across Australia. From local inventory and major assemblies to air freight options and long-term support for older models, this article explains why parts availability is central to how we operate.

Proactively Stocking Common Spare Parts

We proactively pre-order and stock all common spare parts, storing them in Australia so they are readily available when needed.

This allows us to respond quickly when an issue arises, reducing downtime and avoiding unnecessary delays caused by overseas sourcing.
Spare parts availability is planned before machines are delivered to customers, not after a problem occurs.

Major Assemblies Held for Support and Transparency

In addition to common spare parts, we also stock key major drivetrain assemblies, including engine assemblies and front axle components etc.

These assemblies are held not only for support purposes, but also for display and transparency, allowing customers to clearly see:

  • The reinforced front axle designs we specify
  • The engine suppliers we carefully select
  • The higher-quality components we choose, even when they are more expensive

These decisions are made deliberately to reduce failure rates and improve long-term reliability in Australian conditions.

Air Freight Options When Parts Are Not Available

In the event a required part is not available in Australian stock, we do not simply wait for the next shipment.

Based on the size and weight of the part, we assess whether it can be air freighted from the manufacturer to Australia.
Where practical, this approach helps significantly reduce lead times and minimise machine downtime, especially for critical components.

Every Container Includes Spare Parts

With every machinery shipment, we deliberately allocate container space for spare parts.

Alongside machines, a portion of each container is reserved specifically for parts — with the purpose of ensuring that when an issue occurs, we can respond immediately rather than react later.

This reflects our belief that spare parts support should be planned, not reactive.

Supporting Customers for the Long Term

Nicola’s Machinery was established in 2017, and we are committed to operating as a long-term business. We have made significant investment in spare parts inventory to ensure all customers are supported, including owners of older models that may no longer be in current production.

This means supporting:

  • Current models
  • Older models, including machines that are no longer sold

All customers, past and present, are supported with spare parts held in Australia, rather than relying solely on overseas supply.

Parts Manuals & Third-Party Repair Support

We provide parts manuals to support customers throughout the life of their machines.

These manuals make it easier to accurately identify parts, particularly after the warranty period has ended, and allow customers to order parts efficiently and with confidence.

We fully support customers who choose to work with their own trusted mechanics.

Where third-party servicing or repairs are carried out, we are happy to supply genuine replacement parts and provide ongoing parts support.

Regardless of who performs the repair, we remain committed to 100% spare parts support.

Additional Repair Support When Needed

If a customer does not have access to a trusted local mechanic, we can also provide repair support outside the warranty period.

We are not a repair shop, and we do not rely on servicing as a source of income. This service exists simply as a last line of support when customers need assistance.

Our technicians have a deep understanding of the machines we supply, and where required, we work closely with manufacturers to obtain technical guidance and support, ensuring repairs are carried out correctly.

This approach allows us to continue supporting customers when other options are not available, without replacing local service providers.

Dedicated Spare Parts Management

We have dedicated spare parts management personnel responsible for:

  • Communicating directly with manufacturers
  • Planning and purchasing spare parts
  • Recording, tracking and managing Australian inventory

This structured approach ensures parts availability is actively maintained, not managed on an ad-hoc basis.

Strong Manufacturer Relationships

We maintain long-term, robust relationships with our manufacturing partners.

As Australia’s leading dealer for small farm tractors, these relationships allow us to plan parts supply effectively, obtain technical support when required, and ensure machines are properly supported for the Australian market.

Our Philosophy

We believe spare parts support is not optional. It is a responsibility.

By investing in Australian inventory, air freight solutions, parts documentation, dedicated staff and strong manufacturer relationships, we aim to ensure every customer feels supported throughout the life of their machine.

We want our products to continue performing in the field, and we want our customers’ operations to continue thriving.
